Executive Protection

Executive protection services and other security services

Executive security agencies offer many security solutions such as executive protection services, close protection training, secure transportation and other main services for international corporations and VIP clients, institutions and societies. These security agencies generally employ ex service members who have been trained in executive protection. There are some specified norms though which these agencies employ security personnel and design security solutions for their clients. These agencies are required to man stations round the clock and locations are decided based on job requirement and security threats. Before going ahead with deployment, a survey is carried out by securities agencies to assess the threats and vulnerability of installations, proposed to be manned. Consequent to that the offer is prepared and forwarded.

The executive agencies provide services in two formats. The first methodology is to offer the services based on number of stations to be manned. Here the positioning plan is prepared by the client and the scope of executive search agency is to provide only the security personnel. In such a scenario the responsibilities of security agency is quite limited. These agencies in such a scenario have limited themselves to their role as the provider of security personnel only.

The other methodology is to offer comprehensive security solution to the establishment in question. In such a scenario, the responsibility of managing the complete security show lies with the security agency only. They are expected to carry out complete survey of the establishment and share their plan with the clients’ administration department. The problem in second approach lies in the way security arrangement is planned. Since in the second methodology, the role of owner is limited to sharing concerns and providing information regarding sensitive issues and areas (if any) which is required to be guarded, the major responsibilities lies with the security firm only.

Whatever may be the case, once a security agency positions itself as the firm providing executive protection then stakes are high and they cannot just shirk away from the responsibilities, if some untoward happening take place. Hence, the important thing is to manage the security aspects jointly and take responsibility together with the client.
